Next Door takes sustainable-food mission to Longmont: review

It's been more than six years since the first Next Door location opened in Boulder. Since then restaurateur Kimbal Musk has slowly but steadily built up additional locations in Colorado, Tennessee and, soon, Indiana. What sets Next Door apart from other mid-priced eateries is its explicit mission of serving quality scratch-prepared and sustainable food from American farmers at a reasonable price.

One of Next Door's newest locations is in Longmont's Village at the Peaks mall. This self-described "urban casual" venue, with its welcoming warm color scheme, isn't terribly different from neighboring casual restaurants dishing out less healthy fare at a similar price. What stands out visually is a board noting local ingredient sourcing and placards with catchy hashtags in support of this spot's sustainable ethos.
